VC Drama Club to host
"Our Town"
The Vermilion Catholic High School Drama Club will present Thornton Wilder's 'Our Town', Wilder's most frequently performed play. The play appeared on Broadway in 1938 to wide acclaim, and won a Pulitzer prize.
Our Town explores the relationship between two young Grover's Corners neighbors, George Gibbs and Emily Webb, whose childhood friendship blossoms into romance, and then culminates in marriage. When Emily loses her life in childbirth, the circle of life portrayed in each of the three acts of Our Town - growing up, adulthood, and death - is fully realized.
The play will be held at the VC Auditorium on Saturday, January 7 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, January 8 at 2 p.m.
Tickets at the gate are $7 for general public and $5 for VC students.
