The Vermilion Parish Job Fair, hosted by workforce, economic development, and chamber partners, will take place on Wednesday, April 19th at Abbeville High School.
A month before the fair, we want to invite employers of all types* to participate in a pre-event workshop designed to assist employers in the hiring process. Allen & Gooch attorney Laura Johnson will be our guest speaker for "From Hire to Fire – The Alphabet Soup of Employment Law."
“From Hire to Fire – The Alphabet Soup of Employment Law”
Laura Pryor Johnson is an attorney in the Lafayette office of Allen & Gooch. She received her law degree in 2011 from Louisiana State University after graduating cum laude. After being admitted to the bar, she served as law clerk to the Honorable Marilyn C. Castle, 15th Judicial District Court, State of Louisiana.
Her practice focuses on representing employers in state and federal court on a wide range of employment matters, including discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage and hour disputes. In addition to litigating employment matters, Mrs. Johnson provides counseling to employers on personnel policies and handbooks, disciplinary actions, terminations, and wage and hour law compliance.
A fee of $15 will be charged per person to cover food costs.
*Registered Job Fair participants are provided free access to this event, and may call the chamber office to secure their spot (337) 893-2491.
Thank you to our event sponsors Allen & Gooch, A Law Corporation, and One Acadiana.
