The Rotary Club of Abbeville is proud to host the 8th Annual St. Pat’s Comedy for a Cause on Saturday, March 21, 2020; social hour begins at 5:00pm. In an effort to reach multiple corners of our parish, the proceeds from this year’s event will go to three deserving and developmental projects that will have a lasting effect on our community for years to come. We will help the French Immersion Program expand on their already successful efforts, help remodel the American Legion building, and support a local Eagle Scout with his efforts to install playground equipment for teenagers at Palmetto State Park, the first of its kind in our area.
Magdalen Place, in historic downtown Abbeville, will provide the setting for another fun-filled night.
Ticket holders are able to participate in the silent and live auctions, feast on our dinner buffet, enjoy free wine and beer until 10:30pm, cash bar for your preferred beverage, photo booth, comedy, and music until midnight.
This year’s comedy lineup includes the hysterical sidesplitting comedy of Brad Tassell. For 30 years a professional full-time comedian, author, speaker, and educator, Brad Tassell has proven he is not only hilarious, but smart, kind, useful, and the perfect performer. His first full-length comedy special Brad 2 the Bone was on the VidAngel service in 2018. He has been seen on CMT, ESPN, MTV, and PBS. He works 40 to 50 weeks a year doing stand-up in clubs, corporate, keynote addresses, conferences and performs on Carnival Cruise lines.
We are also excited to have the hilarious, comedian Julie Scoggins. A former trucker, pooper scooper, & charm school graduate from Charlotte, North Carolina, Julie has been touring as a full-time standup comedian for over 15 years. She is on the road approximately 36 weeks a year with one week a month set aside for “marriage preservation”. Julie’s regularly heard on XM/Sirius Blue Collar Radio, as well as many syndicated stations including the John Boy & Billy Show, and the Bob & Sheri Show, & the Bob & Tom Show. A Southern girl with universal appeal, Julie’s shows sell out from Florida to Oregon. These two comedians are a guaranteed good time for all!
